What is Proposition 65?
Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law that requires businesses to provide warnings when their products expose consumers to chemicals listed by the State of California as known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The list includes over 900 chemicals, many of which occur naturally in food, soil, and water.
